Amitabh Bachchan
The King of Bollywood, the 1.88m long Amitabh Bachchan, was Friday, April 8 in our country to give to the IIFA Weekend that will take place on 9, 10 and June 11. Amitabh Bachan is "Brand ambassador of IIFA and take part in the concept. IIFA is India's biggest media event and is therefore not only important for the Netherlands, but also for India. Among others, Amitabh Bachchan and Mayor Cohen told us everything we wanted to know about the event.

Arriving in the posh hotel we were provided with a press folder with all necessary information and we were straight to the entrance of the hotel made to use a photo moment. Not quite sure what that meant, we were curious back to the entrance. After about a quarter of an hour arrived Amitabh Bachchan and Mayor Job Cohen at the hotel. Now it became clear what was meant by the picture when the media appeared on the duo agreed to as much as possible pictures. After a few minutes we took in the room where the press could start any time.

The hall was full of famous and lesser-known media. Remarkable was that similar Hindu and Dutch media were present. Not surprising really, since this Bollywood event a boost for the Dutch economy and the future tourism. In Malaysia, Singapore and South Africa, where the IIFA awards, previous years are bound tourism soared. It is expected that all the tourism of India to the Netherlands will triple. Also, the Indian-filmshootings after the IIFA awards in the Netherlands increased substantially. Amsterdam will be much more revenue during this event. There are about twenty to thirty thousand visitors and some 6,000 hotel rooms expected during the IIFA Weekend. During the awards ceremony on June 11, about 15,000 people will fill the ArenA.

The reason that IIFA will be held in Amsterdam and not in Dubai, New York or LA, which also places on the list were for IIFA is that Europe has "captured" should be Bollywood. Bollywood is almost globally popular, only Europe and North America are still missing in this picture. This is the perfect opportunity to change it. Amitabh Bachchan: "This is the opportunity to inform the Western world to do with India, both in film and business area."

It was told about the other events that take place during the IIFA Weekend. Thus, on the eve of Saturday, June 10, a cricket match held in the Olympic stage.

The annual IIFA world premiere will take place again this year. This year's film "So for the first time on 9 June in Amsterdam to see! From June 10, the film globally in cinemas run. The cast of the film will most likely also be present, which include Abhishek Bachchan, Zayed Khan, Sunil Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty, Esha Deol and Dia Mirza.

Unlike previous years, there will be a film festival this year which must of course entirely devoted to Bollywood state. There are several recent and less recent films are rotated in the Pathe Tuschinski theater. This will be done on Saturday, June 10.

Even the stars will be seen on the red carpet, there is an IIFA Trade Forum and its various galas. It promises so what!

And now the question everyone want to have an answer: "How much do the cards!" There were rumors that maps from 250 euros would be. Well, go get 'relief' breath, because so many, the most expensive cards. The cards are from 85 euros and from Tuesday, April 19 at 09.00 available at all outlets of the ticketbox. (

In May there will be more known about the artists who will come. But if we Mr. Bach Chan to believe, the entire Indian film industry is very enthusiastic about the IIFA in Amsterdam will take place. They will also all receive an invitation. Perhaps we can expect all the big stars!

The press conference was organized excellent. The press was welcoming, and the atmosphere there was good! My compliments for the organization!
