The author read an emotional ceremony after the excerpt from his book. The Interchange is about the American pioneer woman Granny. The only thing they eventually left, is her great, who is chief of the Comanche Indians. Meanwhile, there are the book already sold 180,000 copies. GeenStijl The NS Public is the only annual Dutch book in which the reader has the last word. This year brought 47,724 people through their Internet voting, 35 percent more than last year. No fewer than three quarters of the votes came from women. In addition to the election via the Internet, there was a 'core panel' of three hundred book lovers who are voting. The jury is the core CPNB created in order to prevent websites as GeenStijl manipulate the election. For the election were six books nominated. Other opportunities were Abdolah Box with The Messenger and the Koran, Pim van Lommel with Endless Consciousness, Maria Mustard with Real Men Do not Eat Cheese, Simone van der Vlugt (blue water) and Leon de Winter (The Right of Return). The oldest national audience for books was Tuesday for the 22nd time. |
