Food is one of the many blessings we are grateful to Allah. Fasting teaches us the value of food and urges us to the nature of Almighty Allah to understand. During the fasting exercise the human endurance, strengthened his will and teaches him self-discipline. Moreover, the positive affects our health.
Allah wants us to consciously reflect on His creation, so we know what food means to us. Eventually lead to piety.

Allah says:
O you who believe, fasting is your obligation, as it was required for them before you, hopefully you will (Allah) fear.
(Quran 2:183)

Fasting has also many positive influences on the body. By fasting can cure certain diseases, their risk of many diseases are reduced and the positive affects blood circulation resulting in more blood in the brains come. Also, the nervous system to rest and learn our self-control and patience.

Islam also has guidelines for fasting imposed. Thus, fasting sometimes recommended, while in others, discouraged and sometimes prohibited.

Ashoera literally means the tenth. Ashoera is the fasting of the tenth day of the first lunar month, Al-Moharrem. The Prophet (vzmh) said: "Who even on the day of Aschoera finds him Allah forgive his sins of the previous year.

The fasting of the day is in memory of the day in which Allah Moesa (vzmh) and the people of Pharaoh and his army. During the pursuit of Moesa and his people Faroa drowned with his army to the last man. They have left everything behind: gardens, wells, grain fields and all the wonderful places. Allah says:

How many gardens and springs they left behind! And the corn fields and noble! And the pleasant things which they enjoyed! So, but we made other people inherit. Heaven and earth do not shed a tear for them nor were they given.

The Jews of Medina, the tradition to this day fasting for this reason. But to the Jews are said to vary the Prophet:

"When I next year, still alive, and when Allah willing, I will also 9th Moharrem fasting."

Contemporary Aschoera
Today we see that many people today consider as a holiday which is sacrificed and gefeest. There are people who consider this day as a day of sadness and crying, where there is sadness from intentional injury by swords and chains!

This is everything but the intent of Islam. The reliable sources tell us that the Prophet (vzmh) the day fixed and not of this day is a holiday or a day of sorrow made. Allah says regarding the monitoring of the Prophet (vzmh):

... And what the Messenger has brought you, take it and whatever he forbids you, you remember them ....
(Quran 59:7)

A deed that was mistakenly added to Islam will not be accepted by Allah. The Prophet said:
"Who in this case we just add what's not to hear, will own the consequences of this."
