There are two types of diabetes. The type-I diabetes or childhood diabetes typically occurs in the first years of life. It is still not sure of the facts of all causes. Studies have shown that the pancreas can make virtually no insulin. These patients are dependent on insulin administration for survival. When all the very early diagnosis, it is in type I diabetes may be possible that under the influence of insulin injections the cells can recover.

The second form of diabetes is type II diabetes or old age diabetes. This typically occurs after the thirtieth year of life. It has a high blood sugar because the insulin-making cells in the pancreas does not work or because the tissues in the course of time less sensitive to its own insulin. The pancreas is overloaded as it were, and that can come for various reasons.
In type II diabetes, there are a number of factors that influence the development:

  • Heredity (including ethnic background);
  • Body weight (overweight);
  • Food: mainly eat much fat;
  • Exercise: the need for insulin in the body decrease;
  • Age: the risk increases with age.
  • Drinking much alcohol. (alcoholics are often at a later age
    diabetes)

This form of diabetes can be considered by a good lifestyle to maintain. As always, adequate exercise and healthy eating an absolute must.

By treating diabetes is trying to prevent complications. Sometimes, however, can arise, heart disease, renal disorders, problems with the nervous system (neuropathy), such as sensory disturbances, nerve pain and impotence.
