Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (Happiness & Tears)

Second film of the young director Karan Johar who previously successful cough cough Hota Hai made was subtitled it: It's all about loving your parents.

Despite the many jokes and persiflages that in India all around this film made, he gets to most people a sensitive nerve. Not only because of the many tears that flow in it - even the big players found that they very often had to cry - but mainly because he has a subject that for every Indian and especially for the men a very emotional: the relationship father (Amitabh Bachchan) - son (Shah Rukh Khan). Rahul, hitherto the perfect son, falls in love with a girl that is not his father's choice. In fact, it meets none of what his father is important in life: a sense of tradition, respect and the continuation of the family ideals. It means a break in the family. Until his much younger brother Rohan (Hrithik Roshan) is mature and tries again to break the family bonding. A compelling film that leaves no one unmoved.
